• Hydrometers: A plastic swing-arm device that floats in the water. It’s cheap and easy but can be inaccurate if air bubbles stick to the arm.

• Digital Salinity Pens: Electronic testers that provide a reading in PPT (parts per thousand) or Specific Gravity.

• Bresle Test Kits: Used in industrial coating and painting. They measure soluble salts on a steel surface before it is painted to prevent corrosion.

• Damp Analysis Kits: Used by building surveyors to detect "hygroscopic salts" (nitrates and chlorides) in walls, which helps distinguish between rising dampness and simple condensation.

• Iodine Salt Kits: Small kits used in food safety to check if table salt has been properly iodized.
