A Sandblast Nozzle is a precision-engineered tool designed to accelerate a mixture of compressed air and abrasive media (like sand, steel grit, or glass beads) to high velocities. It is the final component of a sandblasting system and determines the velocity, pattern, and efficiency of the cleaning or etching process.
🔬 Internal Geometry: Straight vs. VenturiThe shape of the internal bore dictates how the abrasive hits the surface:1
Straight Bore: Used for small-scale jobs like cabinet blasting or spot cleaning. It creates a tight, concentrated blast pattern but loses velocity quickly.2
Venturi Bore: Features a tapered entry that constricts the air and then expands it.3 This creates a "vacuum effect" that accelerates the abrasive particles to much higher speeds (up to $720$ km/h), creating a larger, more uniform blast pattern.
Double Venturi: Features two venturis in a row with atmospheric air holes, which increases the size of the "hot spot" (the most effective part of the blast pattern) by up to 4$35\%$.5
Since abrasive media "sandblasts" the nozzle from the inside, the material choice determines the nozzle's lifespan:
| Material | Durability (Est. Hours) | Best Use Case |
| Ceramic | $1$ – $2$ hours | Occasional DIY use, light etching. |
| Tungsten Carbide | $300$ – $500$ hours | Standard industrial blasting; high impact resistance. |
| Silicon Carbide | $500$ – $800$ hours | Lightweight; reduces operator fatigue during long shifts. |
| Boron Carbide | $1,000$ – $1,500$ hours | Best for aggressive media like Aluminum Oxide or Silicon Carbide. |
Bore Size: Usually measured in $1/16"$ increments (e.g., a #4 nozzle is $1/4"$). The bore size must be matched to your Air Compressor's CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) output.6
Entry Throat: Common sizes are $25mm$ ($1"$) or $32mm$ ($1-1/4"$).
Jacket Material: Typically encased in Aluminum, Polyurethane, or Brass to protect the brittle carbide liner from external impact.7
Threads: Most industrial nozzles use a $50mm$ Contractor Thread or a $1-1/4"$ NPSM thread for secure attachment to the nozzle holder.

A Sand Blasting Nozzle is an essential component of a sandblasting system, which is used to clean, smooth, or etch the surfaces of various materials through the high-velocity propulsion of abrasive particles, such as sand or other media. The nozzle directs the flow of abrasive particles mixed with compressed air or water to achieve a desired surface finish.

A Sand Blasting Nozzle Holder is an essential component used in sandblasting or abrasive blasting systems to secure the blasting nozzle in place. It ensures that the nozzle remains in the correct position during the blasting process, allowing for the efficient, accurate, and controlled delivery of abrasive materials to the surface being treated. The nozzle holder is typically attached to the hose or blasting equipment and allows the operator to direct the nozzle safely and effectively while also providing flexibility in controlling the blasting process.

A Metalizing Thermal Spray Gun (often simply called a "Metalizing Gun") is a specialized industrial tool used to apply metallic coatings to surfaces for corrosion protection, wear resistance, or dimensional restoration.
While "Thermal Spray" is the broad category, Metalizing specifically refers to the process of coating a substrate (usually steel or concrete) with metals like Zinc, Aluminum, or their alloys.
⚙️ How It Works (The Process)The gun operates on a simple "Melt-Atomize-Impact" principle:
Feeding: A metal feedstock (usually in wire or powder form) is fed into the gun.
Melting: A heat source (either an Oxy-Fuel flame or an Electric Arc) melts the metal at the tip of the gun.
Atomization: Compressed air is injected around the melting zone, breaking the liquid metal into tiny molten droplets.
Deposition: These droplets are propelled at high speed onto a prepared surface, where they flatten and solidify instantly to form a "sandwich" of interlocking metallic layers.
The most portable and traditional type. It uses a combination of oxygen and fuel gas (Acetylene, LPG, or Propane) to create a flame that melts the wire.
Pros: Field-portable, requires no electricity (if using a gas-driven turbine), and very reliable.
Best For: Applying zinc or aluminum for anti-corrosion on bridges or large tanks.
This gun uses two metallic wires charged with opposing electric polarities. When the wires touch, they create an electric arc that melts them.
Pros: High deposition rates (very fast), lower operating costs than gas, and creates a stronger bond.
Best For: Large-scale industrial projects and coating internal diameters of pipes.
