A Bucket Elevator Belt is a high-strength, reinforced industrial belt designed for the vertical transport of bulk materials. It serves as the "backbone" of a bucket elevator system, providing the necessary tension and surface area to carry a series of attached buckets (plastic or metal) that scoop, lift, and discharge materials.

Unlike standard horizontal conveyor belts, elevator belts are engineered for high vertical tension and fastener security.

• Carcass (Core):

  • EP Fabric (Polyester/Nylon): The most common choice. It offers low stretch, high impact resistance, and excellent flexibility for smaller pulley diameters.

     

  • Steel Cord: Used for ultra-high lifts (over 50m) or extremely heavy loads. Steel wires provide maximum strength and near-zero elongation.

  •  Solid Woven (PVC): Often used in the grain and food industry due to its fire-resistant and anti-static properties.

     

• Covers (Rubber/PVC): The outer layers protect the carcass from the material being handled. Common grades include:

  •  M24 / DIN-X: General purpose, high abrasion resistance.

     

  • HR (Heat Resistant): For materials like cement clinker or hot fly ash (up to 200°C).

  • OR (Oil Resistant): For handling oilseeds, grains, or animal fats.

     

  •  FR (Fire Retardant): Critical for explosive dust environments (ATEX compliant).

     

•  Low Elongation: Crucial for vertical systems to prevent the belt from stretching and hitting the bottom (boot) of the housing.

   

• High Bolt Holding Strength: The belt is pre-perforated with holes to attach buckets using Fang Bolts or Euro Bolts. The fabric must resist tearing at these hole points.

   

• Transverse Rigidity: The belt must remain flat and not "cupped" so that buckets stay perfectly aligned and don't rub against the casing.

• Chemical & Moisture Resistance: Especially important for "Ether-based" or "Nitrile" belts used in humid or oily conditions to prevent delamination.
